Pre British Open Training

This week is targetted at pilots at the following catagories of pilot;

  • Those entering the competition the following week
  • Those wanting to enter competitions in the future
  • Those wanting to further their XC skills

The venue is the legindary Soca Valley in Slovenia with Kobarid as our base. From here we can access all the major flying sites in under 40 minutes with the primary ones being just meters away.

The course will include the following;

  • Daily briefings
  • Flying of sites and routes that may feature in the competition
  • Lectures on competition flying
  • Lectures on use of instruments
  • Lectures on route planning
  • Accommodation (if required)
  • Transport (excluding travel to launch)
  • Airport transfers (if required)
  • Retrieves
  • Site fees

The course is being led by Brett janaway, lead guide of xTc Paragliding, and Toby Colombé, lead guide of Passion Paragliding. Also in attendance shall be retreive drivers.

The course costs £345 excluding accommodation. Sorry, there are no discounts available for this week due to the high cost of organising it.

Accommodation can be arranged for you for a cost of £140 (twin room shared). If you require a single room then there will be an additional amount to pay or you may decide to organise your own accommodation in the village of Kobarid or surrounding area.

The accommodation we have arranged (which is also available for the competition if you wish) is at the Hotel Modrina just 5 minutes walk from the landing field. In house there are facilities for Sauna (turkish and infra), massage, hot tub, sun bed, bar and cafe. Breakfast is included for some rooms, others are apartments. There is also a second accommodation at the Guest House Jelkin Hram. It is a paragliding residence so is sure to be full of fellow pilots, based about 10 mins drive from the HQ. Transport will be arranged daily.
